Principal: Patti McGill

Ms. McGill is beginning her 32nd year in education. Her B.A. degree is in Elementary Education (1-6) from University of Florida and she has a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership (K-12) from the University of South Florida. Ms. McGill has 4 years experience as an Assistant Principal which was served at Alta Vista Elementary. She is currently in her eighth year as Principal of Ben Hill Griffin, Jr. Elementary. She has worked with all elementary grade levels, but has the most experience in grades 3-5. Ms. McGill believes all children can learn and has used a variety of strategies to increase student learning including modeling, small group and whole group instruction, scaffolding instruction, and leveled groups which she passes along to teachers. She has taught in Title One schools, as well as non-poverty schools.

Assistant Principal: Beth Wilkin

Beth Wilkin has been an educator for 11 years. She has taught 6th-8th graders in both Reading and Language Arts and has tutored students from age 7 through age 19. Mrs. Wilkin received her B.A. degree in Advertising/Public Relations from the University of Central Florida in 2000 and then her M.Ed. degree in Educational Leadership (K-12) from Nova Southeastern University. Mrs. Wilkin is trained in and has used strategies by Kagan, CRISS, Harry Wong, and Roger Farr. Mrs. Wilkin has created and developed programs to increase struggling students' FCAT scores. She enjoyed her seven years as a teacher and is looking forward her fifth year at BHG for using her experience and education.
