on the PVS website, proceed to next step)
Click on the "Register Now!" button that
is located on the PVS Home Page
In the center of the screen is the
application logon screen. Below the username and password boxes is a
“new student” icon. Select the new student icon to begin the
registration process.
Complete student profile information
(Save)
Once your student profile is completed, you will receive a
logon/username and password. Be sure to print the page with your user
name and password. Keep this copy in a safe and secure location. This
information will be used to ‘enter’ into the virtual school. If at any
time you exit out of the process before completing the registration your
information will be lost.
Complete all agreement pages
(Save)
Complete guardian information (Save)
You will be able to request courses once this process is completed.
Once you have selected your courses, your guardian will have to complete
the approval process using his/her username and password.
Please follow the steps below to create
a guardian account. This is a required account for parents to use to
view their student’s information and approve requested courses. To
create the account you will need the username and password for each
student that is under your care and taking virtual classes. It is
strongly recommended that the guardian account email address be
different from that used by the student.
Go to

select apply for guardian account
Answer the questions and follow the
prompts

Please verify all information then
select create account
Go to
www.polk-fl.net/pvs (if already
on the PVS website, proceed to next step)
Click on the "PVS Log In" button that is
located on the PVS Home Page
Enter username and password into the
appropriately labeled boxes in the center of the screen
On the left hand side of the page select
request new courses
Carefully read the section titled –
Important Course Request Information
Click on the “select first course”
Special Notes:
All Students
Once you have selected your courses, your guardian will have to complete
the approval process through logging into the system using his/her
username and password. The username and password are generated when the
guardian sets up his/her own account.
Public School
Students
A. Students concurrently enrolled in a Polk
County Public School:
If you have a full schedule with a Polk County high school, you will
have to take classes through Florida Virtual School by selecting the
course with FLVS as the serving school (these are listed at the bottom
of the page.)
If this course will be a part of your schedule, then select the course
from with PVS (Polk Virtual School) listed as the serving school. The
Guidance Counselor must also email notification of which class period
the course will be in the student’s schedule to Mrs. Nicolodi. The
receiving of this email will be the initiating factor for enrollment and
subsequent activation in the selected courses. This email must be
received before the student can be class assigned and subsequently
activated.
B. The Guidance Counselor’s approval
process must be completed online for the selected courses by the
Guidance Counselor before the student can be assigned to a class.
Home Schooled
Students
A copy of the letter of Home School Education Approval from the district
office must be received in the Polk Virtual School Office. The receiving
of this letter (via fax or US Postal) will be the initiating factor for
enrollment and subsequent activation in the selected courses. Courses
will not be assigned nor activated until this step is completed.
