Guidance

Positive Behavior Support
PBS is used school wide to promote positive behavior for all. PBS promotes good choices through modeling of appropriate behavior and instant rewards of support. Students are rewarded daily, weekly, and/or monthly through PBS. Check out the Guidance/PBS page for tips.
PTO
Our Parent Teacher Organization is for all families and staff. PTO will host events to keep parents informed about educational trends and how parents can best help their children. Flyers will be sent home notifying parents of meetings. Check school calendar for dates of upcoming events.
School Agenda and Student Handbook
Every student receives a school agenda. The agenda is used as an organizational tool and also for communication between school and home. Parents should check their child's agenda daily. The agenda also contains the student handbook.
Connect-Ed
This message system is used to notify parents of school events and to give families information pertaining to their children. Please be sure the office has your correct phone number for messages and emergencies.
School Supplies
A general supply list is available on the Polk County website. Please make sure your child has pencils and paper for school throughout the year.
Uniforms
Alta Vista follows the School Board of Polk County Code of Conduct regarding uniforms. Additionally, we have school shirts available for purchase in the office.

Parent Portal - View your child's grades online. Parents need to complete an application, which is available in the school office. Parents will need to know their child's 6 digit student ID number to complete the application.

Volunteering in your child's school.
