Discipline Plan

 Steps Taken in Classroom Before Referral to Office for the same Minor Infraction:

  1. Verbal Warning
  2. Complete 1st  Minor Infraction Form with Intervention Indicated (Copy sent home)
  3. Complete 2nd Minor Infraction Form with Intervention Indicated (Copy sent home) and

 phone call to parent/guardian

  1. Referral to office

*This process is repeated for each different offense/infraction.

*Serious Breaches of Conduct Report to Office Immediately*

 

Steps Taken in Office for Referral:

  1. Time out in office, parent contacted, and copy of referral sent to parent
  2. In School Suspension, parent contacted, and copy of referral sent to parent
  3. In School Suspension and Parent Conference
  4. Out of School Suspension and Parent Conference
  5. Out of School Suspension, Parent Conference, and possible dismissal
  6. *Other action taken could include but not limited to, loss of privileges (field trips, parties, special events, block classes, etc.) and/or bus suspension/expulsion.

 

Attendance:

  1. Letter home after 5 absences/tardies in a grading period
  2. Parent conference after 6 absences/tardies in a grading period
  3. 10 days of absences/tardies in a semester will result in possible dismissal

 

Excused Absences:

An excused absence is defined as an absence that has the sanction of the parent and the school.  The following absences are acceptable and will be excused.

  1. Personal Illness:  A student shall be excused for absences caused by personal illness.  A note explaining the absence which has been signed by the parent must accompany the student on return to school.  The school will require a doctor’s certificate after five (5) illness days in a semester.
  2. Illness or Death in the Immediate Family: A note explaining the absence that has been signed by a doctor or funeral home must accompany the student on return to school.

 

Unexcused Absence:  An unexcused absence is defined as an absence that does not have the approval of the school.
