Berkley Charter Elementary is open every Tuesday from 5:00 PM-6:30 PM. Students may come check out books, take Accelerated Reader tests, do research on the Internet, or logon to Compass. This is a great opportunity for your child to get ahead with their accelerated reader points. Students at Berkley expand their reading ability and comprehension by reading Accelerated Reading books independently and then taking a reading comprehension quiz on the computer (primary students may have someone help them.) Accelerated reading books are marked with a dot to help identify them. Each reading level has a different colored dot. Students are required to earn a certain number of Accelerated Reader (AR) points each nine week period. The number of points required varies with each grade level. Click the AR link below to find out more about the Accelerated Reading program and to view the list of AR books in the library.
Our online catalog system shows you every book in our library and whether it is checked out or not. You can also check all of our Accelerated Reading titles. This is very helpful because you might have some AR books at home and not even know it! You can search for AR books by title, author, or level.
