Welcome to our newest board member Katherine Loh!  She brings to our board an expertise of researching, writing, and delivering customized professional development for a variety of organizations.  We are so grateful for her commitment to your school.

Berkley Charter School's Board of Directors meeting will be held on December 5th in the media center at 7am.

It's time for our annual Pumpkin Patch that is held in the library.  Decorated pumpkins, not carved, may be brought in on Monday, Nov. 3rd.  You may decorate your pumpkin in any way except by carving or puncturing the pumpkin.

Classes will vote for their favorite pumpkin during their library time.  Winners will be announced at the Fall Festival.

Pumpkins are to be picked up by Friday, Nov. 7.  All remaining pumpkins will be used to decorate the stage area during the Fall Festival.  Pumpkins that are not picked up after the festival will be thrown away.

2008-2009 Berkley Yearbooks on sale!
Pre-orders $23

The deadline to turn in 5th grade yearbook dedications is November 14th.  Due to a limited amount of space, dedications are available on a first come, first served basis.  No dedications will be accepted after November 14th.  For more information, contact Ms. Howe or email her at erika.howe@polk-fl.net.

Did you know you could contribute to our organization while enjoying a night out?  Gift cards are available from the nation's most popular casual dining spots through our scrip program.  Buy them from us for purchases you were going to make anyway.  Scrip orders are due the last day of the month and will be ready for pick up within a week.
For $1, you can wish a happy birthday to someone at our school and we'll air the student's name and age the week of his/her birthday!

Berkley's annual giving tree toy drive will be starting soon.  Please watch for forms to come home.  Toy request forms are due Wed. Nov. 19th.

The 4-H club will soon have a name and student leaders.  We will also be moving to a different room so watch for the signs.  The meeting time is still 6pm on Thursdays.  During November, members will be building a bench for stuffed animals using hand tools.

Think you are smarter than a 4-H kid?  Then answer this question from the 4H weekly brain teaser:  What comes next in this series of letters:  O T T F F S S E? (No, it's not E)  Answer will be in next month's newsletter.

Please stop by the 4-H maze at the Fall Festival.

Please contact Gerald Robinson @ 860-0496 for more information

Have you noticed our new fences?  During the day, all sidewalk gates will be locked except the sidewalk gates on each side of the office building.  They will remain open as the only access to our campus.  Thank you for helping to keep Berkley a safe place for our children.

Picture retake day is Nov. 12th.

First Wednesday of every month is our student led flagpole prayer at 7:25 am.
