School History
Initial Development
Cleveland Court Elementary School was built in 1927 to serve area children of the Cleveland Heights subdivision. Our country, however, was in an economic depression at this time. The school opened for one semester, but due to low enrollment the school closed and was subsequently used as a Works Project Administration (WPA) facility. Later, it was used to build, assemble, and paint Patrol Torpedo (PT) boats during World War II. Finally, in 1947 Cleveland Court opened as a school for neighborhood children.
Recent History
Since 1947, Cleveland Court has had a reputation for high quality education and has grown and expanded to meet the needs of all the children it serves.

Science Fair
Nearly 80 public school students had their science projects selected as superior by judges in the 2010-2011 Polk Elementary Science Fairs. Two fairs were held to accommodate a large number of entries. Approximately 380 students in 72 elementary schools participated. Fourth and fifth grade elementary students selected a topic of interest for their science fair projects and determined a question about the topic that could be answered through measurable experimentation. Projects were assessed by judges from science-related businesses and industries and science instructors from the elementary through university level. All students received a ribbon and certificate for participating. Superior Award winners received an additional ribbon, a medallion and a science fair T-shirt. Cleveland Court produced three Superior projects (Blue Ribbon, 1st Place) and three Excellent projects (Red Ribbon, 2nd Place) Congratulations to these hard working future scientists listed below:

To make sure that your child has a seat reserved for next school year, complete the form sent home and return to your child's teacher or the school's main office by Friday, April 8, 2011.
