School Schedule
School Begins at 8:00 and ends at 2:30. Students should
not be on campus more than 30 minutes before or 20 minutes after school
unless they are participating in a scheduled program or the Kid Care
program.
If you make a change in the way you usually have your
child come home from school, the school must have a note from you. This
is for your child's safety.
Attendance and Tardiness
Florida State Law requires all students to be in regular
attendance. The importance of regular attendance cannot be
overemphasized. A child should be in school every day that he/she is
physically able. Vacations, trips, routine doctor and dentist
appointments, etc. should be planned so students will not miss school.
Promptness to class is necessary for the student to take
full advantage of available educational opportunities. All students
should be on campus in time to be in class at 8:00. Instruction,
organization and preparation for the day begin immediately.
Please see the Polk County Schools Code of Conduct.
Checking
Students Out of School
If you must check your student out during the school day
you must come to the main office first to sign your child out. Teachers
may not dismiss a child directly from their class.
Students will be released ONLY to those adults listed on
the emergency card.
Bike Riders
Bike riders are to walk bikes on school grounds. Bikes
are to be kept in the bike racks and securely locked.
State law requires that all students must wear helmets.
Cafeteria
The cafeteria serves breakfast and lunch daily. Each
child has a cafeteria account. Money should be deposited, in advance, in
your child's meal account. The money can be deposited any weekday prior to
school.
Agendas
The use of our agenda/planner is to promote home and
school communication, as well as to assist your child in learning
organizational skills. Please plan to look at your child's planner daily
and sign it. This will be an informational tool enabling you to stay
aware of what is happening in your child's class.
Change of Address & Emergency Information
It is imperative that your child's emergency information
card is kept up-to-date. Let the office know of any address or phone
number changes.
Clinic/Medication
Our school provides a first aid clinic that is operated
by a clinic aide and our office staff. Please keep in mind that we do not
have a full time nurse at school. Parents will be contacted by phone when
it is necessary for a child to go home.
Medications should be taken at school only when
necessary to control chronic conditions as acute illness, where failure to
take it could jeopardize the student's health. When sending medicine to
school all prescription medications must be in the original container or
an additional labeled container from the pharmacist.
Dress Code
Cleveland Court students will follow the Polk County
Uniform Dress Code Policy. Pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, or jumpers
should be of denim, twill, or corduroy fabric, in khaki, black or navy
blue. These may be worn with a white, red or navy collared shirt.
Students may choose to wear the red school t-shirt any day.
If pants, shorts or skirts have belt loops, a belt must
be worn. Elastic waist shorts, pants and skirts without belt loops are
acceptable.
Shoes must be safe, appropriate and have enclosed heels
or a heel strap. Flip flops, slides and sandals without heel straps may
not be worn.
For detailed information on the dress code, please refer
to the Polk County School Code of Conduct.

office when coming on the school campus at any time.
All visitors are to wear a visitor's tag while on campus.
