STEAM Academy at CLMS
Science, Technology, Engineering, Fine Arts and Math Academy
Crystal Lake Middle School is proud to introduce the STEAM academy new this 2010-2011 school year. Students were selected to become a part of a science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and fine arts academy to enhance their academic learning with rigorous instruction, preparing them for higher learning. While this is the first year for the STEAM academy, growth is anticipated in future years. Students, who are enrolled through 8th grade, enjoy project-based learning while earning up to five high school academic credits plus two foreign language credits in Mandarin Chinese. We are proud of our students in the STEAM Academy and look forward to seeing great test scores reflective of all their hard work!

Education is the vehicle that will carry students to greater places. It is the teacher’s responsibility to provide students with everything they need to get the car started, and the enthusiasm to peak the students’ interests. It is then each student’s responsibility to “put the pedal to the metal” and drive that car as far as they can go!
