I believe all students have the ability to learn. As a teacher, it is my responsibility to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of each student. I will do this by addressing different learning styles (audio, visual, & hands on) while teaching.

Philosophy:
I believe in giving my students just a little more credit than they deserve, and they will always rise to the occasion. If they don’t know they can’t do something, then their chances of doing it are increased. I believe in helping students to believe in themselves, because once they believe in themselves, they’re unstoppable! There are lots of young bumble bees learning to fly in the classroom. Don’t tell them they can’t. Let them fly!

Science is everywhere around us and is easily accessible. I believe it's important to explore it in a in-depth and fun way. It is also important to make it more personable to our students, so they feel it is relevant to their own lives and so that they may feel successful in the classroom.

Providing students with the highest academic standard of excellence in a safe, positive, and nurturing classroom environment will facilitate student achievement, success and growth not only academically but socially, aesthetically, and emotionally; equipping them with essential knowledge and skills to become outstanding members or future leaders of our community.

Philosophy:
I believe that if we guide and encourage students to be curious and wonder about the world; and then help them discover answers and THINK about the application of that knowledge to their lives, we set them on the path to life long learning. And when a student is on that path, they gain a better understanding of, and acquire a deeper appreciation for the earth, and the things in it. That makes better people…. and if even ONE person walks out of my classroom better than they were before they walked in, then I have accomplished any teacher’s goal.
