Apple Blossom Trip April 30 - May 5, 2008

Below you will find some links to some of the sights we are going to be seeing in Washington D.C. as well as a rough draft of our itinerary.

Day 1, April 30, 2008 (Wednesday)

4:30pm     Depart Lakeland High School

5:00pm     Depart for Washington, DC with dinner on your own en route and driving through the night. 

Day 2, May 1, 2008 (Thursday) 

8:00am      Arrive in the DC area in time for full American buffet breakfast at the Old Country Buffet. 

9:00am     Smithsonian Mall (Smithsonian Museum of Air & Space, National Gallery of Art, Smithsonian Museum to the American Indian, and, if possibly the National Archives.)

5:00pm   Dinner at Pentagon City Mall

7:00pm     Night tour with Jefferson and Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorials.

9:30pm     Arrive at the hotel for check-in

Day 3, May 2, 2008 (Friday) 

7:00am      Full American buffet breakfast at the hotel and depart for downtown and local touring of DC.

8:30am    Arlington National Cemetery, including the Kennedy Graves, Arlington House, the Tomb of the Unknowns with the Changing of the Guard, Columbia & Challenger Space Shuttle Memorials, and much more.

11:00pm   Lunch at the Reagan Building food court.

12:30pm   World War II Memorial.

4:30pm     Depart the hotel for DC with a brief stop at the Iwo Jima Marine Corps Memorial en route.

6:00pm     Dinner at the Pentagon City Mall.

7:30pm     Night touring of the monuments and memorials including; Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Einstein Memorial, and the Washington Monument.

9:45pm     Arrive back at the hotel for the evening.

Day 4, May 3, 2008 (Saturday) 

6:30am      Full American buffet breakfast at the hotel.

7:15am      Board coaches and head for Winchester, Virginia to stage for the Apple Blossom Festival Parade.  Lunch will be on your own in the area.

2:30pm     After the parade time, the group will return to the hotelget ready for the rest of the day.

6:00pm     Depart for the Washington Pier in DC.

7:15pm     Board cruise ship.

7:30pm     Spirit of Washington dinner and dance cruise.

10:30pm   Cruise over; depart for hotel

11:30pm   Arrive back at the hotel.

Day 5, May 4, 2008 (Sunday)

8:00am    Load luggage on buses and eat breakfast at the hotel.

9:00am     Depart for Kings Dominion Park.

11:00am  Kings Dominion Park

7:00pm    Depart for home 

Day 6, May 5, 2008 (Monday) 

10:00am    Arrive back at the school.
