Art at Floral Avenue

 Each class at Floral Avenue Elementary takes part in art classes once a week. Our students have shown their talent & creativity in diverse festivals and art shows.

Floral Avenue Elementary is also a proud participant in Bartow’s community celebrations such as the Halloween and Christmas parades. Last year, the school won first place for its Halloween float.

All grade levels are studying rhythm during this nine weeks.

Kindergarten is finding the steady beat, strong/weak beat and long/short sounds. We will begin to read basic rhythms in standard musical form and with icons.

First through fifth grade students will revisit the steady beat, strong and weak beat, and conducting patterns. We will play rhythms, read rhythms and write the rhythm that is played (notation).

The fifth grade classes spent the first several weeks on the Essential Criteria pretest.
