School Policy and Procedure
New Student Registration
The following is a list of paperwork required for registration:
- Shot Records
- Physical
- Social Security Card
- Birth Certificate
- Two Proofs of Residence (With Names and Addresses on them)
Your child will not be placed in a class until all required paperwork is completed. Please fell free to call the school office at 965-5455 if you have more questions.
School Drop-Off Time
Please do not drop off children at school before 7:30AM. There are no adults on duty before that time and we have no way to supervise children before 7:30AM. Car riders, walkers and bike riders must be in the cafeteria line before 7:40 to have breakfast; our morning bell rings at 7:50am; the tardy bell rings at 7:55am.
Loading and Unloading Children
Please come through the line in the front of the school to load and unload students. Please do not park, load, or unload children on the street this can cause a very dangerous situation. Dismissal begins at 2:30pm.
Breakfast
Car riders, walkers, and bike riders will need to be in the cafeteria between 7:30 AM and 7:40 AM in order to eat breakfast.

Uniforms
Garner Elementary follows the uniform dress code policy set forth by the Polk County School Board. Please refer to the 2009-2010 Elementary Code of Student Conduct handbook.
Garner Elementary school T-shirts may be purchased by filling out an order form that is located in the school office. Payment must accompany this form. Orders will be filled within two weeks and delivered to the student. T-shirts will also be available for purchase at Orientation and all PTO sponsored events.
