School History

Recent History

Over the past couple of years, Gibbons Street has went through a lot of growth. This growth started two years ago with the construction of the new administration building. Our old office was just way too small for our rapidly growing school. Now, there is much more room for many more people! Along with the Principal and Vice Principal; you will find the clinic, Guidance Counselor, and other important people under the roof of the new office.

This year, we also have the addition of four new classrooms. The new rooms are equipped with all the latest technology to help provide a great education for the students.  Soon, though, all of the classrooms throughout the entire school will have the same technologies. Unfortunately, all growth takes time. We will try to keep you up to date on all of the changes as GSE continues to grow each year.

Code of Conduct and Other School Policy

Gibbons Street Elementary follows the School Board of Polk County's Code of Conduct. If, for some reason you did not get a copy of this at the beginning of the school year, you may contact your child's teacher or call the office. You can also go here to download it from the School Board website.

Also, at GSE, we follow the School Board's Dress Code guidelines. If you have any questions about what your child may or may not wear, please contact the office. You may also go here to view these guidelines online.
