About Griffin

Griffin Elementary is one of the original "Strawberry Schools" in the Kathleen area of Northwest Lakeland. The original school building burned down and the Main Building that houses the Library Media Center and Offices was rebuilt in 1931.

Last school year, the Cafeteria building was remodeled to include a larger cafeteria, a staff lunchroom, and a larger stage area. The exterior of the building was resurfaced to match the brick of the original 1931 building.

Griffin Elementary is a Positive Behavior Support School

The Positive Behavior Support Team is a leadership team that assists all staff members in dealing with student behavior.

 Here are the tools staff members use to encourage positive student behavior:

• Students have personal behavior cards. When a student behaves on the bus, or anywhere on campus, they can earn a hole punch. By filling a row on their card, they will participate in activities such as "no uniform day", special dances, and "sports day".
