Lana M. Tatom,
who has a EdS degree in Curriculum, Instruction, Management and
Administration, has been an administrator for 4 years. Prior to that, she
taught in a classroom for seven years and was a Title I teacher & Literacy
Leader for three years. Following that she served as Director of
Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment for three years. The schools that
she worked in were all served by Title I. She continues professional
development in all curriculum areas and is working on a doctorate degree
in Educational Leadership. She has attended and led professional
development in a wide range of topics from classroom walkthroughs, parent
involvement, and best practices. She is experienced in analyzing data and
the implementation of scientifically based researched programs
/initiatives. She is actively involved in training teachers in effective
teaching strategies. She meets with teachers regularly to analyze data and
to discuss the types of interventions that are needed to bring about
student success. Her past experience include working with schools that are
failing and turning them around to make AYP.
Mrs.
Sheila Gregory,
Assistant Principal

Sheila Gregory, who has a
BS degree in Elementary Education and a MA degree in Educational
Leadership, has been an administrator for two years. She has previously
taught in grades 1-4 as well as a gifted program. She was a Reading Coach
and has facilitated Reading endorsement classes for the district. She has
experience working with Title I schools. She has also planned and
implemented Parent Reading Workshops as well as Tutoring Programs for
At-Risk Students. She has extensive training in a variety of areas across
the curriculum. It is our hope that her skills will help us maintain our
academic focus as a school who strives to provide children the foundation
for becoming productive citizens.
