School Mission

The mission of Lena Vista Elementary School is to provide students a positive, challenging learning experience within a safe, nurturing environment so that children will reach their learning potential and become responsible, productive citizens with the support of their school, their families and their community.

School Vision

Lena Vista Elementary School will provide a safe haven where students and staff are respected and learning will be rigorous, relevant and based on relationships.

School History

Lena Vista Elementary is a federally funded Title One school located at 925 Berkley Road in Auburndale, Florida, on beautifully landscaped property.  Built in 1956, Lena Vista has provided excellence in education for more than half a century.  We are very fortunate to have wonderful volunteers and business partners who help enhance each child's learning opportunities.  Lena Vista Elementary has been named a 5 Star School for the past ten consecutive years.  The Five Star Award is given to schools for community service and community involvement efforts by including family, volunteers, school advisory councils and business partners.

School Technology

Lena Vista Elementary is infused with technology.  Every third, fourth and fifth grade classroom is equipped with SMART Boards and Lightspeed Surround Sound systems.  We have mobile SMART Boards available to each teacher for checkout, SMART Senteo and Qwizdom Student Response Systems, LCD projectors, laptops, digital cameras, document cameras, and other technology equipment.  Teachers are consistently promoting the use of technology whether in guided lessons or small group settings.  Lena Vista's three technology coaches provide professional development throughout the school year to staff members on new software programs and digital devices to further integrate technology into the classroom.

The Lena Vista Elementary PTO is a very active organization that supports parents, teachers, students and staff members.  Through school wide fundraisers, PTO is able to purchase incentives for students, gifts for staff appreciation days and help offset costs of field trips.  We appreciate our PTO greatly!
