Open to seniors who have participated in athletics and who live in the Bright House Sports Network Viewing area.  One male and female will be chosen from both the Tampa Bay and Central Florida markets.  With the application, submit high school transcripts, letters of recommendation from a coach and teacher, and the required essay.  Applications are available in guidance.

Open to seniors whose parent, guardian, or grandparent is a retired, active duty, National Guard, and Reserve Officer, or a former Officer of the US Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, or Coast Guard.  Dependents of other federal employees and non-commissioned Officers (E-5 through E-9) may also be eligible.  Applicants must demonstrate leadership skills at school and in the community, and possess good moral character.  Proof of college acceptance must accompany application.  Scholarship is renewable if a B average is maintained in college.  Financial information, high school transcripts with test scores, and at least three letters of recommendation must accompany the application.  Applications are available in guidance.

The Southern Scholarship Foundation (SSF) provides rent-free housing to students with significant financial need at:  Florida State University, the University of Florida, Florida A&M and Florida Gulf Coast University.  Applicants must fill out a FAFSA form and receive an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of $7,500 or less.  Transcripts, proof of college acceptance, and letter of recommendation are also required.  Applications are online: www.southernscholarship.org.
