Roots and Shoots
The Roots & Shoots program is about making positive change happen for our community and for the environment. It is guided by the founding principles and extraordinary vision of Dr. Jane Goodall, renowned environmentalist and humanitarian. Their goal is to foster respect and compassion for all living things, inspiring each individual to take action to make the world a better place for people, animals, and the environment. So far this year they have taken a beach clean up field trip to St. Petersburg and have adopted a sea turtle. In January, a campus clean up will take place, and in the spring, they are planning an eco tour field trip through the aquarium to learn more about our oceans and how we can save them. The club meets the first Wednesday of every month.
