Making Tracks Towards Excellence
Mulberry High School serves just over 1000 students in the greater Mulberry area. The faculty and staff at MHS are dedicated and determined to provide a rigorous and relevant education to Mulberry's high school-aged students.
Three teams from the MHS FFA recently competed in the Ornamental Horticulture contest held in Dundee. Veronica Sallisky and Cory Dunn placed 1st in the Consumer Division, which allows them to move on to the state competition. Shelby Carmichael and Maryann Cason won 3rd Place in the Artistic Arrangement division and Melissa Chauncey placed 3rd in the Marketing Division. Congratulations to these students! We are very proud of their hard work.
Exciting Band News!
We would like to congratulate the Mulberry High School Band for being nominated and selected to perform as part of the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington D. C. in May of 2015. Governor Rick Scott selected two bands to represent Florida and MHS is one of them. We are very excited and proud for our students, school, and community!
2014 Prom Information
This year's prom will be held Saturday, May 3rd, from 8:00 pm to 12:00 midnight at the Lake Ashton Country Club in Lake Wales. The theme is "The Emerald City" and the dress is formal attire. Tickets will be sold on April 29th and 30th and May 1st. No tickets will be sold at the door. The cost is $60 per person. CASH ONLY is accepted - no checks! In order to purchase a ticket, the student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher, cannot have more than 10 unexcused absences, cannot have any obligations (class fees, extracurricular fees, lost or overdue library books and/or textbooks), and cannot receive OSS for any serious breach of conduct as outlined in the PCSB Code of Conduct. If a student wants to bring a date that does not attend MHS, they must complete a date form, which will be available in the front office on April 21st. Date forms are due back on April 29th. We are looking forward to a fun-filled evening!
Senior Calendar, Senior Activities, and Dress Requirements
All seniors have been given their senior calendar, their end-of-year activities list, and the dress requirements for Senior Awards Night, Baccalaureate, and Graduation. Click on the links below to view these documents.
Free and Reduced Price Meal Application
The School Nutrition Department will offer families the option of applying for free and reduced price meals through an on-line application. Paper applications will still be available for families who do not have internet access. On-line applications will greatly reduce the time that teachers and staff spend handling paper applications as well as the expense of printing. Most importantly, students will be approved for meal benefits much quicker.
Athletic Eligibility Forms
Preparticipation Physical Evaluation-EL2 and the Consent/Release from Liability Certificate-EL3. These two forms required by the FHSAA before a student-athlete can participate in any type of conditioning, workout, practices or contests are only available at each high school in the office of the athletic director. These two forms must be turned in directly to the Athletic Director. These forms contain additional statements which are specific to the School District of Polk County which require the signatures of the parent/guardian and student-athlete. For that reason, please do not download the EL2 and EL3 forms from the FHSAA website.
The MyPolkSchools Parent Portal
Parents can now access their student's information from any computer with an internet connection. The MyPolkSchools Parent Portal allows parents to check current grades, obtain immunization status, learn if their child had any recorded discipline or attendance issues throughout the day, check their child's current lunch account balance, and even see what their child purchased in the lunchroom - all before their child comes home from school.
