WHENEVER YOU MUST CHANGE THE WAY YOUR CHILD GOES HOME, YOU MUST NOTIFY THE TEACHER BY SENDING A NOTE IN THE AGENDA. CHILDREN ARE NOT ALLOWED TO GO HOME A DIFFERENT WAY WITHOUT A NOTE SIGNED BY THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN!
Bus Riders:
During the first few days of school, your child will receive a sticker as he or she gets off the bus with his or her bus assignment. That will help him or her know what bus to get on in the afternoon.
Talk to your child about bus safety.
Here are a few examples:
- Stay seated while the bus is moving.
- Nothing should go outside of a bus window.
- Use only quiet voices so that the bus driver is not distracted.
- Wait until bus the stops before walking towards it at the bus stop.
- Follow the bus driver's rules.
- Watch for cars when getting off the bus.
Bus drivers can write referrals for inappropriate behavior that can result in suspension from the bus.
Remind your child to make good choices at the bus stop since there may not be an adult present.

Walkers:
- Walkers who walk toward Circle K must exit through the side gate by the library ONLY.
- Walkers who walk toward Baird Avenue or 98 must exit behind the cafeteria through the gate on Baird Avenue. Walkers must stay on the sidewalk and walk to the crossing guard.
- We recommend that young children have an adult walk to the school and pick them up (by the library gate or the gate on Baird Avenue).
- We suggest that you have your child walk with a group of children if possible for safety reasons.
- Please talk to your child about safety. There should be no walking or playing in the streets.
- Tell your child to come straight home after school rather than stopping at a friend's house.
- If you are going to pick your child up on a rainy day, please discuss exactly what you will do on those days so he or she will know what to do.
- Once your child leaves school property, the school cannot be responsible for what happens. Please be sure to remind your child to make good choices while walking and talk to you about any problems that may occur on his or her way home.
