 As a Title I school, North Lakeland Elementary is part of a school-wide Federal aid program. Title I money is allocated to school districts based on the number of low-income children it serves. Funding for our School of Choice designation and Title I allocations enable us to provide the following enrichment for our students’ education:

  • Additional resource teachers focused on improving student achievement
  • Reading Coach to monitor and facilitate a quality reading program
  • Tutoring program for at-risk students
  • Regular family involvement activities after school
  • Family Resource Center available with a variety of take-home teaching aids for parents
  • Teachers trained in effective Learning Focused lesson planning
  • Parent workshops (Families Building Better Readers, ESOL FCAT Backpacks, Internet Safety
  • After school clubs and activities
  • On-going student progress monitoring
  • School-wide behavior management plan focused on positive behaviors
  • Family Involvement nights are planned with an emphasis on promoting literacy and supporting Sunshine State Standards through a variety of activities.
