As a Title I school, North Lakeland Elementary is part of a school-wide Federal aid program. Title I money is allocated to school districts based on the number of low-income children it serves. Funding for our School of Choice designation and Title I allocations enable us to provide the following enrichment for our students’ education:
- Additional resource teachers focused on improving student achievement
- Reading Coach to monitor and facilitate a quality reading program
- Tutoring program for at-risk students
- Regular family involvement activities after school
- Family Resource Center available with a variety of take-home teaching aids for parents
- Teachers trained in effective Learning Focused lesson planning
- Parent workshops (Families Building Better Readers, ESOL FCAT Backpacks, Internet Safety
- After school clubs and activities
- On-going student progress monitoring
- School-wide behavior management plan focused on positive behaviors
- Family Involvement nights are planned with an emphasis on promoting literacy and supporting Sunshine State Standards through a variety of activities.
