Our K-5 writing program inspires students to love writing. Our students learn early that outstanding writers need to be creative, focused and organized. They have become outstanding writers that enjoy writing. Our writing specialist supplements the teachers' writing lesson plans and visits each classroom to teach both expository (writing to explain and inform) and narrative writing (writing to tell a story). Small writing groups are formed to help fourth grade students with additional, individualized writing instruction
In addition to expository and narrative writing, students use a variety of writing formats to convey their message. They are given the opportunity do creative writing and journal writing. By using visual aids and quick-writes, students find that they enjoy writing. Students become outstanding writers, through our sequenced K-5 writing program.
