Media Specialist: Jan Shields
Our library has an open schedule in which students may come to the Media Center any time throughout the day to check out books. Teachers have a scheduled time to bring their students for library skills. The Media Center is open for students to take an AR quiz or to do research. We want the students to feel welcome and to use our resources frequently. The Media Center hours are from 8:30-3:30 each day.
Accelerated Reader Quizzes
Accelerated Reader is a program that helps students with comprehension skills. A student reads an AR book and then takes a short quiz to see how much information they retained from the book. Students earn points for every question they answer correctly. As an incentive, they earn prizes and t-shirts based on the number of points earned with an 80% quiz average. Who said reading isn't fun!
