Governor Scott Presents Shine
Awards to Eight Outstanding Florida Educators
Tallahassee, Fla. – Today, during a meeting of
the Florida Cabinet, Governor Rick Scott recognized
eight outstanding educators with the Governor’s Shine
Awards. The Shine Award is presented to teachers and
administrators in Florida who make significant
contributions to the field of education.
Governor Scott said, “I am proud to honor Florida’s
incredible teachers who work every day to help students
accomplish their goals and get a great education in our
state. I especially want to thank the Florida teachers
who have previously served in the military. The
sacrifices they have made to keep Florida families safe
and defend freedom across the world gives our students
the opportunity to achieve the American Dream.”

The students in the Gifted Class have recently added a
butterfly garden to our courtyard. The students
planned and researched how to develop the garden and the
best location to put the garden. When the garden
is all finished, classes will be able to visit the
garden to study the different varieties of butterflies.
