Sleepy Hill Elementary School

As Explorers at Sleepy Hill Elementary, we will implement district curriculum to prepare all students to be full participants in the global community of the future.  We will show respect, display healthy attitudes, explore responsibly, and always put safety first.

Family Reading Night is Coming!!

Thursday, October 23

Join us at 6:00 in the cafeteria for an exciting presentation from author Michael Sterns.

Michael Sterns  Kokopelli and the island of change

He will do an interactive slide show of his book "Kokopelli and the Island of Change"

After the presentation you can purchase his book and he will autograph it for you! You will then visit stations to do make-and-take activities to help your child with reading at home and receive curriculum information.  The public library will also be in attendance for you to sign up for a FREE library card. Don't forget to visit the computer lab to sign up for the Parent Portal, the Book Fair will be open for you to shop and the Parent Center will be open to check out materials.  Finally, we will be offering a pizza dinner as one of your stations. LOTS of fun activities....we hope to see you there!!!

Polk County School District Tobacco Free Environment Policy

Policy 3.003 (D)

The School Board of Polk County is committed to ensuring our children and employees are healthy and live in healthy communities. As part of this effort, the School Board passed a tobacco-free environment policy that prohibits any form of tobacco and nicotine anytime or anywhere, by anyone on campus or during school-sponsored events. This policy includes ALL school-sponsored events after regular school hours.

The MyPolkSchools Parent Portal

Parents can now access their student’s information from any computer with an internet connection. The MyPolkSchools Parent Portal allows parents to check current grades, obtain immunization status, learn if their child had any recorded discipline or attendance issues throughout the day, check their child’s current lunch account balance, and even see what their child purchased in the lunchroom – all before their child comes home from school.
