Dress Code for 2012 - 2013

Shirts: Sleepy Hill Middle School T-Shirt

6th grade burgundy

7th grade hunter green

8th grade navy blue

SHPA students will wear aerospace shirts

STEAM students will wear STEAM shirts

Under shirts may only be white

Girls: Khaki Pants with belt loops shall be worn with a belt that is properly fastened. Shorts or skirts must be mid-thigh. Pants cannot be torn, frayed, or not hemmed and no cut-off shorts will be allowed.

Jewelry that is distracting will not be allowed. This includes: large hoop earrings, any large or dangly earrings, bright colored beads, multiple bangles bracelets, large necklaces and anything that may be offensive to any group or organization.

Boys: Khaki Pants must be worn at the appropriate height on the students' hips. All pants that have belt loops must be worn with a belt. Belts must have the ability to buckle and hold pants at the waistline. No pants can be torn, frayed, or cutoff.

Jewelry that is distracting will not be allowed. This includes: any beads or large necklaces, and anything that may be considered offensive to any group or organization. This will include belt buckles and includes anything that promotes use of tobacco, drugs, alcohol, or violence.

Jackets may be worn on campus when the weather is cool. No hoodies may be worn (this is a sweat shirt without a zipper that has a hood). Please refer the district Winter Wear Policy. PDF

Sleepy Hill Middle School will follow the Polk County School Board Code of Conduct as stated in Section 6.03 A, B, C, and D.

The following stores will have appropriate clothing available to meet dress code rules:

Walmart, Target, Bealls Outlet, J.C. Penneys, Sears, and Old Navy.

School shirts will go on sale August 13th, 2012.

Supplies for 6th Grade, 7th Grade , 8th Grade

The Only Supplies your student(s) Will need: Pencils and Paper.

It is the policy of Sleepy Hill Middle School that supplies that your student(s) will need for their Core Courses (Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies) will be provided to them by the school.

Please Note: That Elective Courses (Band, Chorus, Art, Technology, Leadership, PE) Will require some supplies and or Lab fees from your student(s). Teachers will provided a list of supplies and or fees on the first day of school.

Sleepy Hill Middle School is a "NO INK" school

Your child will not need pens, markers, highlighters if your student needs any ink devices (pens, markers, highlighter) they will be provided by the teacher in class for your student to use.

Sleepy Hill Middle School is a "NO Backpack or Draw string bag" school

It is recommended that your student have Zipper Binder to help them stay organized
