Spook Hill Spotlight
April is nationally recognized as Child Abuse Prevention Month. The Pinwheels for Prevention® campaign uses a simple child’s toy to remind us that we all play an important role in children’s lives. Spook Hill Elementary showed their support by displaying colorful pinwheels in the garden in honor of the children in and around our community.

PTO- End- of-the Year Announcement
As our year draws to a close, the executive board would like to thank you for all your help and support this year. We could not have made it without you. We have a few end of the year items that we need to inform you about. The first deals with some proposed changes to the by-laws regarding officers’ duties. We believe that these proposed changes will better serve our organization. The proposed changes are available for your review on the website as well as in the front office. Please take a moment to review these changes. We would like to vote on them at our final meeting of the year. We are also looking for nominations to serve on the executive board. The positions that are needed for next year are: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. If you know of anyone or are willing to serve yourself, please let one of the officers know by 5/11/12 so the ballots can be prepared for the final meeting. Again thank you for your support this school year. We look forward to seeing you at the final meeting on May 22, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. If you have questions, please contact Jamie Ramos, PTO President, at 678-4262 or

Breaking News
Volunteer- of-the-Year!
Mrs. Margaret Champion is Spook Hill's Volunteer -of-the- Year. She not only helps in the office she contributes to the school and especially to the students by recommending to various Women’s groups such as The Lake Wales Women’s Club, The Catholic Council of Women and others to have fundraisers that benefit the students and staff at Spook Hill.
Her frequent donations of clothing, belts, shoes, etc to the clinic for our needy students have kept our clinic closet full. Her generous contribution for the food baskets during the holidays helped many Spook Hill families.
She has given from the heart and has never asked for anything in return which makes her a truly generous person.
