Welcome to Spook Hill Elementary. The school is located in the beautiful town of Lake Wales, established on the highest point on Central Florida's geographical ridge. The name, Spook Hill Elementary, was chosen because it is located next to the attraction Spook Hill.

Tradition Continues with K-12 Arts Integration

The 2013-14 school year is an exciting year for Spook Hill and McLaughlin as we begin Phase II of an arts integration project that will lead to a complete K-12 arts integrated program in Lake Wales.  You will find new attachments with information about the program and an application for arts majors at the middle school level.  This information was presented at the parent meeting on April 25th at both McLaughlin and Spook Hill.  The application is for students entering 6th, 7th or 8th grade who are interested in auditioning for the accelerated arts and academic classes at McLaughlin this fall.

Volunteer of the Year

                                             

 

Carol Friedrich has been volunteering at Spook Hill for three years.  She is affectionately known around campus as “Miss Carol.”  The students and staff love her alike.  She is a constant at Spook Hill from helping in the summer, selling shirts at orientation, volunteering during the regular school day, tutoring after school and working with various charitable organizations to help out our school.

SCHOOL ATTENDANCE IS THE LAW

Read more here. All children, ages 6-16 are required to attend school regularly during the entire school term unless otherwise exempt under the law.

The MyPolkSchools Parent Portal

Parents can now access their student’s information from any computer with an internet connection. The MyPolkSchools Parent Portal allows parents to check current grades, obtain immunization status, learn if their child had any recorded discipline or attendance issues throughout the day, check their child’s current lunch account balance, and even see what their child purchased in the lunchroom – all before their child comes home from school.
