Southwest Village: A Global Community

Southwest Elementary Goes "All Around" the World With Its Village Theme. If it "takes a village to raise a child," then shouldn't we work together as a village?! That is exactly what we are doing here at Southwest. We have adopted a project in which the entire school campus has been transformed into a typical village.  Our village includes a pet shop, grocery store, flower shop, park, hospital, bakery, museum, beach, toy store, and more. We are utilizing the attitude of community to instill a global understanding of cooperation. The universal buildings on our campus have been converted into creative "common areas" to service all of the students. Our cafeteria is now an International Cafe. The computer lab is our Post Office (fitting title for the hub of our communication). We even have a beautiful garden....formerly our media center. As you can imagine, the children are excited about the positive interaction and opportunity they have to be a thriving part of our CommUNITY!
