Our Administrators

Dr. Steve Petrie - Principal

Dr. Petrie brings to Union Academy a wealth of knowledge in working with students and parents.  He has served as a teacher, guidance counselor, and school administrator.  His administrative experience includes fourteen years as a school principal and seven years as an Area Assistant Superintendent.  In 1994, he was recognized as Florida Principal of the Year, earning the Principal Achievement Award for Outstanding Leadership.

Dr. Petrie’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from Florida Southern College, Master of Education in Guidance and Counseling from Rollins College, Specialist in Education in Administration and Supervision from Rollins College, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida.

 

Mr. Bryant Joyner - Assistant Principal

Mr. Joyner has been in the education field since 1982.  He started at Union Academy in 1995, which was his first administrative position.   Mr. Joyner received his B.S. in Psychology and B.S. in Sociology from Florida Southern College.  He earned his M.S. in Educational Leadership from Nova University.  He has taught self contained E.H. classes at Oscar Pope Elementary and Geography, History and Basic Math at Kathleen Middle School.
