MISSION
STATEMENT Every student will receive a quality education. Winter Haven High School will provide a safe haven environment that will provide a foundation in academic excellence, technology and personal growth. Our school, parents and community will work together to assure responsible, successful citizens in a changing world.
Students will be allowed to make-up the work that they
miss during the first five (5) absences for each semester of 18
weeks (5 per semester). For 18-week classes (1/2 credit classses), students will be allowed to make-up work missed for the
first three (3) absences. On the 6th absence of a semester (4th absence for
18 week courses)
and any thereafter, students must bring documentation to the attendance
office in order to receive a form allowing them to make-up work. Excused
absences include doctor’s notes, funeral notices or court dates. This
documentation must be brought to the attendance office before or after
school within 2 days of the absence. CHECK OUT
POLICY
DRESS
CODE 2008-2009 Dress for
Success and Safety The School Improvement Council, parents, administrators, teachers, and students have set the Dress Code for Winter Haven High School. The Dress Code will be enforced everyday throughout the school year and it is important that parents and students have an understanding that ALL students will have to adhere to the policies.
Shirts and Blouses: Pants, Shorts and Skirts: Hats and Head coverings:
Students in violation of the dress code will not be able to
attend classes until they meet the Dress Code Policies of Winter Haven High
School and Polk County Schools. Parents should monitor their student’s dress
daily before they leave home. Doing so could prevent hardships that might
develop. The safe learning environment of our campus is a high priority. BELL SCHEDULE
